The Cauldron as a Portal of Wisdom

When we place our hands on the cauldron, we make a connection to all druids and witches throughout history who have also used the cauldron in their rituals and magical workings. Through the cauldron we can receive wisdom that the divine wishes to impart to us. We tap into the collective consciousness of druids and witches from ages past. The information we receive can involve personal matters, spiritual guidance, world events, activity in the unseen realms, or situations we will encounter in the near future. As Cerridwen is the Keeper of the Cauldron, it is with her that contact must first be established. When using the cauldron in this manner, the cauldron must be free of ash and debri, and filled at least 1/3 with spring water. This practice should be undertaken during the night-time hours, with natural light only, such as candlelight or moonlight. Light any incense you prefer. To begin, close your eyes, place both hands on the cauldron and take several deep breaths until you reach a meditative state. In your mind’s eye, slowly visualize the numbers 1 through 10. Gaze into the blackness of the cauldron and know that it’s depths extend to the Otherworld. Both hands must remain in contact with the cauldron at all times. Chant the AWEN three times. (Pronounced “AHH-OO-WEN”) Visualize the Awen symbol hovering above the cauldron and descending into it’s depths. Say the following:

I CALL UPON CERRIDWEN, KEEPER OF THE CAULDRON, THE WITCH, THE GODDESS, AND THE MOTHER. USE THIS CAULDRON AS A PORTAL AND SHOW ME WHAT I MUST KNOW”.

With eyes closed and both hands on the cauldron, quietly wait. Remain in a meditative state and do not rush the process. Allow at least 20 minutes or longer until you sense it is time to stop. Information comes in the form of impressions, images, feelings, words, or a sudden awareness. Do not force the images or impressions, simply remain in a receptive state and allow them to come. Know that some impressions may not make sense immediately. Keep a notebook handy to write everything down when you have finished.
